I love hamburgers, and even more, I love homemade hamburgers! Say goodbye to store-bought, highly processed meat patties; this is my go-to recipe for making DELICIOUS homemade hamburgers, from scratch.
Most recipes I found online involve using milk or Worcestershire sauce (or both!), which you cannot add to meat if you’re kosher like me!
So I took a little bit from different things online, and adjusted it to my liking- and I’ve never made any other hamburger recipe since.
I also have a recipe for homemade hamburger buns, in case you’re feeling extra savvy and in the homemade mood. You can check it out here.
While the patties are on the grill, prep a vegetable platter:
- lettuce
- sliced tomatoes
- red onion rings
- pickles
Serve on your favorite hamburger buns, or use my recipe to make your own homemade hamburger buns.
Enjoy!

Easy Homemade Hamburgers
Ingredients
- 800 grams ground meat
- 2 TB soy sauce
- 1 TB water
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup bread crumbs
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Add all the ingredients to a bowl
- Wearing a glove, combine the ingredients with your hand, for a few minutes, ensuring the mixture becomes cohesive. Do this as if you were kneading dough- this softens the meat and makes sure all the flavorings are well absorbed.
- Weigh out 8 patties. Each one should weigh around 125 grams.
- Shape each patty first into a ball, and then flatten them out evenly using the palm of your hand. Create a dent in the center to prevent the patties from puffing up and becoming round once they hit the grill.
- Grill the patties 2-4 minutes on each side, depending on your liking.
- OPTIONAL: if you don't have a grill, you can easily make these patties with a frypan on the stove top.
